Head to the Ballidu Tavern. Driving is easiest if coming from out of town. The drive from Perth to the town of Wongan Hills takes about two hours, with Ballidu a short 30-minute drive from there. The easiest way to get there is to take Tonkin Highway to the end at Muchea, then continue along Great Northern Highway to Bindoon. From there continue north for 29km, turn right towards Calingiri. In Calingiri follow the signs to Wongan Hills. Parking will be available in Ballidu Township.

Yes, on-course support will be available, including Pit Stops on the 155km ‘Wongan Thrills’ and 82km ‘The Ballidude’ rides.

Yes. An on-day briefing will be held prior to the start of each ride. Please make sure to read your Rider Guide which will be uploaded to the webpage and emailed to all registered riders prior to the event. It will contain all the information you will need to get the most out of the event.

If you are the first to come across an accident, you must stop and check on the rider. If the situation is serious, summon help immediately. If there is no phone reception, ask the next rider to alert the nearest marshal. You are expected to stay with the injured rider until assistance arrives.

All bike types are welcome on the shorter rides: gravel, MTB, road, BMX, e-bike, adaptive bikes, commuter, hybrids… MTB and gravel bikes are highly recommended for the longer rides, as are tubeless tires.

E-bikes are only permitted on the 12km Just Ballidu It and 44km Yes You Canola rides.

All riders and competitors are to keep hold of their unwanted wrappers etc and dispose correctly at the collection points.

Yes! Bike it to Ballidu Gravel is suitable for adaptive riders. If you require a support rider, please contact WestCycle at info@westcycle.org.au to organise complimentary entry for them.

Riders entering the 155km and 82km sanctioned events must hold an AusCycling Off Road or All Race Licence or Day Licence to be eligible for prizes.

During the event, the rider must comply with all traffic and road laws, all directions issued by Police and all instructions given by WestCycle, the AusCycling Commissaires, contractors, employees or officials. Failure to do so may result in the rider being removed from the event.

Riders must correctly position their back numbers; either on the lower back or on the outside of their hydration pack.

The front number plate must be mounted vertically, flat, and unaltered (i.e. not bent or folded).

Modifying the plate to gain an aerodynamic advantage is not permitted under AusCycling regulations and may interfere with the timing chip’s functionality.

This requirement applies to all riders in the 155km and 82km Dunn Aviation Race categories and will be enforced. While recommended for participation riders, it is not compulsory for them.
