A Shire of great beauty...
& awesome gravel!

Welcome to Wongan-Ballidu

The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu is about 200km north east of Perth.

The Shire’s biggest township is Wongan Hills, with Ballidu 34km to the north.

All Bike it to Ballidu Gravel rides start and finish from the Event Village in Ballidu Township (Alpha Street), with the longest (161km) route passing Wongan Hills around halfway before continuing on a challenging loop that winds back to Ballidu.

How to get to Ballidu

The drive from Perth to the town of Wongan Hills takes about two hours, with Ballidu a short 30-minute drive from there.

The easiest way to get there is to take Tonkin Highway to the end at Muchea, then continue along Great Northern Highway to Bindoon. From there continue north for 29km, turn right towards Calingiri. In Calingiri follow the signs to Wongan Hills.

Travelling Between Wongan Hills & Ballidu

On event day/evening, a Boekeman’s shuttle bus service will be available to transport people between Wongan Hills and Ballidu.

Currently there are no plans for bike transport between the towns.
